"Nosferatu" (1922)

Considered the first vampire movie of all time, Nosferatu is a classic for every horror fan.  It follows the same premise of Bram Stocker's popular novel Dracula, with one exception-- the filmmakers couldn't obtain the official rights and therefore they couldn't use ol' Bram's character names.  Instead of Count Dracula, the main ghoul is Count Orlok, a nasty vampire who has his un-beating heart set on the pure Ellen.  While the ending is quite different than the other, more classic version, it is still strikingly similar and even beautiful in its execution.  Nosferatu is definitely a silent film worth watching, people....

Rent Nosferatu from Netflix or buy it straight from Amazon.  In the meantime, check out the following scene:

P.S. Did you know that the character of Nosferatu (a.k.a. the creepy dude in all his vampire glory) only appears in the film for a total of 9 minutes?
